All of the cars I've imported have been ro-ro.  But your new VW was shipped via container, so do they open it in port and take the car out there?  Or do they transport the whole container to you and you get to un-box it?

There's another company that's delivering it to my door step.  It was part of the deal with the shop in Brazil.

Latest update is they are still trying to arrange the home delivery.

Sounds like they may have someone lined up by the end of the week.  I'm hoping it shows up before I leave for a week or 3 for work.

Being picked up Monday and dropped off Tuesday.  I go on call Monday for work and for sure leaving for Europe on Wednesday.  Hopefully that all stays that way so I'm here for delivery to at least check it out before leaving.

To the shop.  The winch awaits it's arrival to pull it inside.  I don't believe it has any fluids.

Flooding in Houston was the cause for delay.  1-2 days new eta.  I have the winch hooked up and ready to go for Jen with diagrams and an explanation how to get it in the shop.

I hope she takes video, I want to see her running that winch and guiding the car into the shop! Should be epic!

(Not saying she can't do it - she absolutely can!)

I even pulled up underbody shots from the purchase contract and showed her where to hook up the chain.  So long as she can steer it and click "IN" on the winch control she should be fine.  I have the boot lid on the mini open and my battery charger hooked up.  She just needs to disconnect the battery charger and hook up the winch power cables.  Winch is unwound so she doesn't have to figure out how to do that and additional winching straps are beside it if she needs more length.

Well it arrived. Sent it to the wrong place, tried to charge me more money, Jen couldn't work the winch.  Big cluster fuck.  It's sitting outside the shop.

Glad it made it at last, sitting outside for a few days till you get home won't hurt it.

Was she at least able to inspect it for damage?
