It's odd that the clutch pedal arm looks stronger than the brake arm.....

Both the clutch arm and the accelerator look a bit more substantial (although round stock isn't all that rigid really). Perhaps they were just optimistic and created this car for going and not for stopping.  ;D

Hey, somebody else in Oklahoma imported a Type 2 bus from Brazil a couple of months ago.  Could've arrived on the same boat.

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1973-volkswagen-bus-25/

15.5k reserve not met.  I was looking through similar buses from where I imported mine and guessed he bought it between 14-18k as bare bones as it was with the underside being kind of dirty.  A split window 23 conversion from Brazil a couple months ago went for 53k on bat.  It was all done up though.

My 1965 Spitfire that I bought after discharge from the Army 1967 for $1500 cash. Had lotsa fun with it. I was 5 ft 15 in. then and people had fun watching me crawl into it. Twin SU's.

BruceK

What's this?  A Jaguar that is easy to maintain and is actually dependable?   Not exactly.  These are now available for import to the US.   An easy way to get kicked out of the Jaguar owners club!

Still has the cheap ass Nissan Micra interior too.....

Did you see Richard Brunning picked up a Supercharged Jag XKF sedan today? Brilliant car he says - but the only thing he was after was the drivetrain, for the MGZ project I'll bet. IF they can make the engine run properly with a stand alone ECU. IF.

I didn't see that. Glad to hear Richard Brunning has time for a new project now that he's spent 8 years to finally finish Project Binky with the Mini and also Project Escargot with the transporter.

Wait. What?  What's that?  Neither one of those two is actually finished and the boys are onto something else?  Oh dear.

Well, they're moving ahead on both, but Binky is in the hands of the paint shop and the interior trimmers....so there's pretty much nothing left they can do till it's done.

Those cars are crying out for a roof chop.

BruceK

Definitely!  But you should see the later models - they still have the Jag front and rear ends grafted on - but they have even more of bubble roof.

It's not just pseudo-Jaguars made by Mitsuoka.

They've taken styling inspiration from old Chevy Blazers to create a replacement front end for brand new Toyota RAV4 SUVs.  Here's the Buddy model.

Looks pretty good to me.

Yes agreed it still looks top heavy and the wheels are too small but at least the roofline looks somewhat like a Jag.

This video for a BaT auction really raises the bar for a driving video of the car being sold.  I guess this is what Dave refers to as selling the sizzle rather than the steak.  ;D

It's an old JDM firetruck.

Yep, the video emphasizes what you do with the truck, not what it is exactly.....really professionally done video too.  With the bongos going in the background no less......

My point about videos is that having someone riding in the front seat alternatively showing the floor and the roof as the car accelerates and shifts and with so much wind noise you not only can't stand to have the sound on but you also can't hear the engine - that is not a good sales video. You want to put the prospective driver in the seat as if they owned they car, and show them how cool or how much fun it is to own. Show other people's reaction to the car, giving you thumbs up and admiring looks.

When I sold cars if I had a customer who was waffling, I'd ask them questions like - does this fit in your garage? do you pull in forwards or back in? What's the first trip you'll take in your new Porsche? What will your brother, dad, uncle or whomever they've mentioned think about your new car? You have to put them in the drivers seat -at least in their mind.

In this video, he's showing not only how the car starts and drives, but what you can do with it..... very well done.

A VTEC Clubman for sale.  Asking just $12K which is definitely on the cheaper end of things for a VTEC.    Hmmmmm.

Hey, that's our car! . . . and I joined the forum today and this is my first post.
We bought this 1977 Morris Clubman at the end of October and have been working on tidying it up a bit as well as general maintenance.

I took a roadtrip Sat past to look at what was advertised as a 1959 Mini minor. Outside pics showed existence of a drip rail so was skeptical since they were built later with drip rails but was curious enough to take a look. I arrived a a place that looked like a wreckyard. The owner told me he had spent a lot of time cleaning out his deceased father's estate in Mesquite TX and moving it all to his house a few miles away.
Car in question was RHD missing engine with no title (lost it seems). He said it was built in Pakistan and somehow ended up in his fathers posession and lounged for 40 years. He said he had to dig it
out of leaves halfway up the side so it wasn't in  the best of shape.
Rust was apparent and appeared to need a new floor or parts. Boot was pretty bad. I've seen the extreme rusty restorations and would never attempt one myself but there may be someone out there
that wants a project, Let me know for more info if interested. Oh yeah he was asking $3500. Way too high but I wasn't interested so did not discuss.
Also had another baskiet case 60 Morris Mini LHD but worse shape he would let go for $3000. Huge hole where spare tire was rusted. need whole floor and then some I suppose.

MiniDave

In England, they'll take cars far worse than these and fix them up. I would put this on the MkI forum, I'll bet someone on there would be all over these.
