I will look into it for ya.  If I don't forget!

This is a tutorial a friend of mine posted on a smaller that this board, board.  I do not have time to mess with it so I am pasting it here and we will see if it works.

IN the past, it was pretty easy.

On the Youtube page, you would click "share", then select "embed" and finally, select "use old embed code".

They have removed the old embed code option from their options now, so what are we to do??  Click a LINK and go to Youtube?   Oh, hell no!

Instead, you use the following work around.
This is much more time consuming and more prone to going wrong when you copy and paste something incorrectly, so that makes it more fun - right?

Whatever.

Let's say you wanted to post this video:
https://youtu.be/9Eh7-B3ncK4

Damn.   Just a link.

New embed code?  Let's try:
<iframe></iframe>

Damn, ya bastard.

Ok....   let's try the work-around....

Copy the following (you know, select it with your mouse, then ctrl+c)

{embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/XXXXXXXXXX?version=3&amp;hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed}

Now, paste it where you want a video. (ctrl+v for paste)
Change the leading and trailing brackets:   { and } to <and>.
And change the ten Xs to the Youtube video code.  What is this?  Well, in the "share" link that I posted earlier, it would be  9Eh7-B3ncK4

With any luck, you should get THIS:

<embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/9Eh7-B3ncK4?version=3&amp;hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed>

Or if you insert code e-ORhEE9VVg, you get this:

<embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/e-ORhEE9VVg?version=3&amp;hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed>

You could also just use a site like this to generate the code for you:

Trying using the link above:

<object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" style="width:450px; height:366px;" data="//www.youtube.com/v/9Eh7-B3ncK4?color2=FBE9EC&amp;version=3">
        <param name="movie" value="//www.youtube.com/v/9Eh7-B3ncK4?color2=FBE9EC&amp;version=3" />
        <param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" />
        <param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" />
        </object><div style="font-size: 0.8em"><a href="https://www.tools4noobs.com/online_tools/youtube_xhtml/">Get your own valid XHTML YouTube embed code</a></div>

Welp, none of those work and I have to fight the urge to screw with it, I am racing rain today.  I will mess with it this afternoon.

I also did a little research on getting youtube videos to embed in BBCode.  There is a nice method available if that BBCode extension (tags) have been implemented into the forum software.  The methods Jim was trying are related, but again, rely on the tags being supported in the BBCode manager of the forum package.

Dan may have to check for an update to gain that support.

LilDrunkenSmurf

Yeah, it's all just an extension. I use another SMF forum that has it installed, you just past the link and it auto-embeds, or another non-SMF where you tag it

There may be a mod I can add.  I'm a little tied up till next week before I can sit at a computer and play with it.

Love the video, hate that bitch. I can go off but do not want to offend any.

Here is a good one I saw last week.

That tire vid was pretty cool, the technology needed to make it unfold and refold like that is pretty impressive. I've never seen one inflated before....I thought as long as it took to add air that it was going to explode, turns out he just had his compressor off so he didn't have a lot of pressure in the tank.....
