Suggestions for mirror problem

The stock exterior mirrors on my Mini are adjustable with a ball-and-socket arrangement.  However, after adjusting them they seem later to droop or are even pushed back out of adjustment by the supersonic speeds of my Mini going down the road.  ;D

I want them to remain adjustable just but not as loosey-goosey as they are now. I've got the same problem with mirrors on another vehicle in the family fleet too.

Any suggestions on how to make the ball joint stiffer? I'm wondering about adding some substance to the joint yet have them still remain somewhat flexible when I do need to adjust them.

The spring style washer on the underside should have no problem keeping tension on the mirror once it's tightened up to be both: loose enough to allow you to still adjust the mirror, yet tight enough to not move under super sonic speeds.

Thanks Dan.  I didn't realize the tension was adjustable.
