Odd, I talked with a welder and he swore by simple green. Best cleaner for heli arc welding per him.

You could just buy the factory 1 3/4" long chrome clip that covers the seam area it may cover up what you need to.

Yes, I posed the same question to Phoenix and they suggested the cover. It's cheap but a new lock isn't very expensive and I can change it out easily.

I just put one of the new windows into the mini, I did the back one

new glass and new seal


this time around, I put the seal onto the glass and then put it into the car,

getting the seal onto the glass was a pain but putting the seal into the car was simple, I used no lube whats so ever this time around

im getting ready to put the rear side windows in

Hmmm... trying to visualize... did you have to work the seal onto the body from the inside?
Someone daid the back was easier than front.

I worked the seal into the body from the outside, I have some plastic trim panel tools

im going to try it on the front next week


Monday I plan to put the door guts and glass back into the car
so maybe by Tuesday i'll be able to work the front window
