Post by: jeff10049 on September 02, 2019, 02:05:35 PM
Just registered for this will have the 60 mini there.
Tomorrow is the last day to register for more than a field spot.
Hope to see/meet some of you there.

Jeff

I'll be there in my '68 Elf!
If you are close to Beaverton, I'm meeting up with a guy in a GT6 to drive down together.
Beaverton Fred Meyer (the one near 217)
The parking lot outside the garden center at 8:30.

Your car was so perfect, what could beat it?

You'd be amazed at what wins and loses at car shows.  All depends on who's voting.  The Dallas British show my nice but now where near a show car mini one first for the tiny car group and personally I was surprised.  Of course this was voted on by participants and they voted a revinned sports pack back dated mash up bitsa mini for the best preservation award.   :-[

When it comes to people's choice usually the Mini that wins is the one with the flag on the roof and the most stickers, lights and crap all over it.....a clean, fully restored car doesn't stand a chance. Ask me how I know!

A very nice 1071 that I voted for got 1st I figured it would come down to his or mine I may have got 1st if I voted for my car but that's not right.

Fun show I'm sure I will go again I meant rick the guy with the world traveled mini named roo that was fun he helped me out with some parts for my car years ago. I don't think he's on here I will have to ask him.

The vintage mini races were great fun to watch.

Ah, you saw my (light gray) Elf then, it was near the blue Elf - it was a great show! I met a lot of people that I had only talked to online before. Also found one of my old Minis that I last saw ~15 years ago - it was that orange, just-built, rally-spec '60 Morris: when I had it, it was speedwell blue and much different! I talked to the owners for awhile, cool people that did a great job building it, it was amazing.

Which car was yours? I must have seen it out there! I didn't attend the awards so I missed seeing who won.

2nd car in from the end speedwell blue the 4th in was the 1071. Yes, I saw your light grey elf nice car too bad we didn't meet up maybe next year. I liked the orange car as well the build style somewhat reminded me of stan360's car from here. if we're talking about the same car.

I'll send Rick an invite how does it work to get in? Do we need to notify Dan?
I know he had this place on lockdown.

Registration is open, so if he has issues let me know.  Once registered I get a notification and manually approve him, then he gets an email saying he can login.

I've "talked" to Rick for years online, finally got to meet him at the EMW show in Colorado this summer - good guy to have on the board if he'll come. He posts most of his stuff on Facebook.

Who is Bill Cox? I got a FB invite from him - is he "werewolf" on Mania?

Yes that is him and I just got an invite on FB from him too but it does not show in invites for some reason so may be a scam.

Werewolf is shut down on MM Dave his new screen name is barbwire.

I think he's still werewolf on BaT tho.....

Also given the rain they had up there in Portlandia, I'm surprised that field isn't muddier!
